Over the past 14 years we have been working alongside our mission partner Wilmer Aviles to impact the lives of people living in extreme poverty through meeting both physical and spiritual needs. Providing food, medical care, and education, as well as church planting have been our primary focuses over the past decade. In March of 2025 we began a new ministry to provide theological training to pastors and church leaders in five different regions of Nicaragua. In May of 2025 we launched a ministry that will provide homes for families living in extreme poverty, with a goal of building two homes each year.
In March we will have a dual focus of our trip. One of our focuses will be laying the groundwork for the planting of two new churches. We will visit families home by home providing them with food, sharing the gospel, praying with them, and helping them with any physical needs that we are able to help with. Second we will host activities for kids at which we will build relationships and share Jesus. Ministry to kids is a critical aspect of planting new churches in Nicaragua. It is through ministry to kids that we earn the opportunity to minister to parents, and start Bible studies that grow to become a new church. Our second focus will be on the construction of a home for a indigenous missionary family living in extreme poverty. We will construct the roof, doors, windows, and pour the concrete floor.
