WR Kids

Partnering with Parents

Our goal is to partner with parents to help kids become disciples of Jesus. Everything about West Rome KidMin is created with you and your kids in mind.  We create exciting, creative, and fun experiences each week to help kids develop the building blocks of a healthy relationship with Jesus.  In our time together, we bring memorable and applicable Bible teaching that’s age-appropriate, helping each child learn more about Jesus.

Preschool

Preschool Ministry || birth-K

Our Ministry Leaders create a safe, significant, and loving environment where little ones learn that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever!

What we do:

Our goal for each Preschool and Kindergarten Class is to serve your little ones well while simultaneously building their Biblical Foundation. Each class is led by a minimum of two incredible Ministry Leaders. Each Preschool Leader has been background-checked and trained before being approved to serve in a classroom.

  • Birth to 1 Year:  We love your kids, attend to their needs, and keep them engaged while you attend one of our services.
  • 1 to 3 Years:  We teach your children God’s Word with exciting lessons that are broken down to each age appropriate level. We walk through the Bible chronologically, changing the theme each month.
  • 3 years to Kindergarten: Once your child turns 3 they will dig a little deeper as they develop their Biblical Foundation through Bible teaching, fun videos, worship music, games, and other activities designed to help them understand God’s Word.

Kids

Kids Ministry || 1st-4th

Our vision is to lead our 1st-6th grade children into a growing relationship with Jesus where they learn to love the Lord their God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength. Through engaging worship, biblical teaching, and meaningful relationships, we seek to build a foundation of faith that shapes their identity, fuels their purpose, and ignites a lifelong passion for following Jesus.

Sundays:

In our Sunday programming, we teach a curriculum that walks kids through the entire story of the Bible in chronological order each year. We believe that it’s important for children to understand that the stories of the Bible are all related and point to Jesus! By walking through the history of redemption in a kid-friendly way, we hope to help kids understand their need for Jesus and His gift of salvation for them!

What the expect during Sunday morning services:

  • 9:00 A.M. Service (Children’s Church): Kids participate in worship and a large group lesson before splitting into grade-specific small groups for discussion and activities.
  • 10:30 A.M. Service (Traditional Sunday School): Children go directly to grade-level classrooms for age-appropriate teaching.
Wednesdays:

Wednesday evenings we teach our 1st-4th graders through a curriculum rooted in leading children to find their identity in Christ. This curriculum covers 12 Biblical truths taught throughout the year that are foundational as they give a clear picture of Jesus and the gospel. Wednesday evenings also provide opportunities for outreach and service projects throughout the year.

Preteen

Preteen Ministry || 5th-6th

Our 5th – 6th graders meet in The Bridge as it is an environment created to bridge the gap between our younger grades and our youth group.

Sundays:
  • 9:00 AM Service (Children’s Church): Preteens participate with younger grades for prayer and worship before moving to The Bridge for their lesson and small groups..
  • 10:30 AM Service (Traditional Sunday School): Children go directly to grade-level classrooms for age-appropriate teaching.
Wednesdays:

Wednesday evenings our 5th – 6th graders take a deeper dive into God’s Word as they discover 8 roots of the gospel: rescue, kingdom, knowledge, worship, identity, apologetics, outreach, and community. Our preteens are given opportunities to serve and lead within the ministry, church and community as they take ownership of their faith.

Our Preteens are given unique opportunities throughout the year for fun connection, spiritual growth, and service projects outside of our normal service times.

FAQs about West Rome Kids

First of all, welcome! We’re so excited to see you! Upon arrival, follow the signs or ask our door greeters to point you towards our Welcome Center located on the main entrance hallway across from our Preschool area. In the Welcome Center you will find a friendly greeter who will help you get your children registered. Because of our commitment to safety, you’ll check your child(ren) in using our check-in system. If your child has any special concerns or allergies that our team needs to know, please tell the volunteers at check in. We want to do the best we can to safely accommodate everyone! Our volunteer team member will escort you and your child(ren) to the appropriate classroom for your child. During the programming, you can expect your kid(s) to hear a lesson about the gospel told in kid-friendly language, worship as a group, complete activities that relate to the lesson, and learn a monthly memory verse in a fun and safe environment.

We have an amazing greeting team who can aid families through the check-in process as well as self check-in areas clearly marked in our preschool and children’s ministry areas. For families who have checked in with us before you can easily navigate the self check-in ipads using the phone number that corresponds to your family’s registration profile. Because we are committed to creating a safe environment, every child must be checked in, wear the printed name tag with security code, and be picked up by a parent or guardian with the corresponding security tag that is exclusive to your family and your visit.

If it’s your first visit, we’ll ask for a bit of family information – your full name, your child’s full name, their birthday, your contact information, and any special instructions or allergy information. Once your child has been checked in, you’ll receive corresponding parent and child stickers which will be used to pick your child up after the worship service has ended.

We recognize that God has entrusted us with the safety of kids while they’re in our care, and we prioritize their well-being. Each kid’s environment is supervised by multiple volunteers who have undergone an application process, an interview, background check, and policy training.

Along with our check-in system we have secured hallways provided by our Security Team.

Our facilities are cleaned weekly and preschool area toys are disinfected after services on Sundays and Wednesdays.

If you have any additional questions regarding the practices or policies surrounding children’s safety, please reach out to Tiffany Roberts for 1st-6th grade children or Hannah Boyd for babies – Kindergarten.

We desire for our Kids Ministry to provide an inclusive, gospel-centered environment for children who face unique challenges related to their physical, mental, behavioral, medical, or emotional needs. If you have a child with special needs or would like more information, please reach out to Tiffany Roberts.

Is there something we didn’t cover that you’d like to know more about? Reach out to the age appropriate minister for more information.
