Partnering with Parents

Our goal is to partner with parents to help kids become disciples of Jesus. Everything about West Rome KidMin is created with you and your kids in mind.  We create exciting, creative, and fun experiences each week to help kids develop the building blocks of a healthy relationship with Jesus.  In our time together, we bring memorable and applicable Bible teaching that’s age-appropriate, helping each child learn more about Jesus.

Preschool

Preschool Ministry || birth-K

Our Ministry Leaders create a safe, significant, and loving environment where little ones learn that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever!

What we do:

Our goal for each Preschool and Kindergarten Class is to serve your little ones well while simultaneously building their Biblical Foundation. Each class is led by a minimum of two incredible Ministry Leaders. Each Preschool Leader has been background-checked and trained before being approved to serve in a classroom.

  • Birth to 1 Year:  We love your kids, attend to their needs, and keep them engaged while you attend one of our services.
  • 1 to 3 Years:  We teach your children God’s Word with exciting lessons that are broken down to each age appropriate level. We walk through the Bible chronologically, changing the theme each month.
  • 3 years to Kindergarten: Once your child turns 3 they will dig a little deeper as they develop their Biblical Foundation through Bible teaching, fun videos, worship music, games, and other activities designed to help them understand God’s Word.

Kids

Kids Ministry || 1st-4th

Each week the kids will enjoy a multimedia learning experience as they dive into God’s Bible truths through Bible teaching, fun videos, worship music, games, small groups, and other activities designed to help them understand and apply God’s Word.

What we do:

We value relationships, and believe that the small group setting is the best way for kids to build relationships with each other and with their leaders.  Each group is led by our incredible team of background-checked volunteers. Their small group time will include worship, age-appropriate teaching, cool videos, fun games and diving deeper into the day’s message and how it applies to our lives. We finish small groups with prayer time as parents come back to pick up kids. When picking up your children be sure to take home one of our Parent Guides to help review what your child just learned as well as to  help encourage  the continued growth of their journey with Jesus as you set intentional times for conversation around scripture throughout the week.

What and how we teach:

Our kids curriculum focuses on Loving God, Loving Others and Living On Mission.  We are currently using The Gospel Project and exploring the Bible in chronological order during our Sunday morning services. This year’s units focus on the New Testament and the life of Jesus and the early church. Dependent on the age group your kids may focus on learning through the HEAR method or by weekly reflection questions designed to see who God is, what does this lesson teach me about myself, are there commands or promises to remember and how does what I have learned help me live on mission during the week. Wednesday evening services focus on teaching 12 biblical truths to help kids learn who they are because of who Christ is through a curriculum called Hyfi by Lifeway.

The HEAR Method consists of:

  • Highlight – read specific passages and memorize Scripture

  • Explain – observations and bullet points of the lesson

  • Apply – learning activity to help them apply the Bible truth

  • Respond – opportunity to respond in prayer.

Using this simple formula we help kids better understand how to HEAR what the Bible says and how it applies to their lives.

Preteen

Preteen Ministry || 5th-6th

We place a high value on the differences of both maturity and ability between younger children and preteens, which is why we host this unique age in its own category. While the Kids Ministry and Preteen Ministry do crossover in large some group times, the preteens have their own dedicated space with their own small groups. We also host Preteen-specific events throughout the year to bolster the fellowship needs and serving abilities of these awesome kids.

Each week the kids will enjoy a multimedia learning experience as they dive into God’s Bible truths through Bible teaching, fun videos, worship music, games, small groups, and other activities designed to help them understand and apply God’s Word.

FAQs about West Rome Kids

You may check-in your child at any available station in our main hallway. After checking in your child, you will receive matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will wear the name tag portion while you keep the matching tag. After the service, you will return to children’s pickup area and show your tag to a volunteer for your child to be released back to you.

Your child’s safety is a big priority for us!

At check-in, you will get a name tag for your child to wear and a parent pick-up tag for you to keep. Those tags both have the same identification code on them that is exclusive to your family that day. After service, you will return to your child’s area with your parent pick-up tag and show that your tag’s code matches your child’s name tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

Our volunteer Team Members are all screened with an interview and background check, and every hallway is monitored by security personnel.

All areas, rooms, and toys are cleaned & sanitized prior to and following use

We believe that church should be fun for people at any age!

Within each setting we use technology, fun activities, skilled volunteers, and small groups so that children can experience for themselves who God is, how He sees them and how much He loves them.

We value children’s relationships within the small group setting as they relate to their leader and other kids in the group.

We strive to ensure that each group is led by at least two leaders at all times.

All children’s groups are age and gender specific, and as families commit to attending the same service each week, kids are placed in a group of familiar faces where relationships can grow.
