Pastoral Care Ministries exists to provide numerous opportunities for individuals to become actively involved in using and fulfilling their God-given SHAPE. Getting started in a DYS (Discover Your Shape) class will give direction and encouragement as you put into practice your unique gifting. Through membership ministries or community projects, Pastoral Care Ministries has several paths to discover the way to live out your purpose. Experience “being” His minister and leave the “doing” to Him.
Every church family has a special group of people that has given of their lives, time, and energy; now it’s time to minister to them. Do the older people have a special place in your heart? We have approximately 30 members who are homebound and would love to receive a visit from someone who cares. In a month’s time, could you make a handful of visits? It’s guaranteed you will receive the blessing.
God has equipped His body with various gifts and abilities. Perhaps your gifting is in the area of “mercy.” As we all go through life, death crosses our paths, either directly or indirectly. When families grieve over the loss of a loved one, the church family is there to provide comfort and encouragement. An avenue to minister to them is through the preparation and serving of meals at their convenience. Several teams (5-10 per team) are on stand-by to accommodate this pertinent need.
If you’ve been in the hospital or sick for a lengthy period of time, you know the value of a phone call, card, or personal visit. Our ministry staff visits throughout the week and is always available for emergency calls. Someone else who is faithful to be there is the Hospital team. They provide hospital visits on weekends and other opportunities when the staff is on vacation or attending conferences.
Decision Counselor Ministry
When an individual comes forward at the invitation time in a worship service, this team stands ready to assist the Pastor in guided “decision counseling.” Whether the decision is for salvation, affirmation, confession/prayer, church membership, or something else, this team is there for support.
The Handy Man team is designed to assist church membership unable to handle small jobs (carpentry, electric, plumbing, painting, etc.) around the home. Our team has assisted several of our older members by addressing projects that demand a skilled touch. If you have a project that needs attention, click here.
WRBC has always been a mission-minded church that believes in hands-on mission work. Throughout the year mission trips are planned for our church family to be engaged in mission opportunities around the world. Transportation is provided, and the Shuttle Team supports each team by commuting them to and from the Atlanta airport.
